Environmental Commitment
As a responsible bank, we endeavour to ensure our business actions comply with the demands of environmental responsibility.
In line with our statutory mandate, we are firmly convinced of the following: the economy in general - and therefore Zürcher Kantonalbank itself - can only be successful in the long run if we also act responsibly towards the environment and society. Our sustainability services are continuously being examined and improved using the recognised Zürcher Kantonalbank sustainability rating.
Cooperation with WWF Switzerland
Together with our clients, and with the support of the WWF, we intend to take increasing responsibility for safeguarding the future of our world. We aim to achieve this by offering products that not only bring added value to our customers but are also beneficial to the environment and society. Zürcher Kantonalbank and WWF Switzerland together support regional and national projects to protect the environment and improve the quality of life.
Environment
For years, we have been promoting respect for nature and the environment. Internally, we address this commitment through our range of sustainable and environment-related banking products, and in cooperation with our regional partners. We intend to step up our collaboration with WWF Switzerland in 2007.
In 2002, Zürcher Kantonalbak was Switzerland's first cantonal bank to be awarded ISO 14001 certification for its EMS (last recertification in 2008). In 2002, Zürcher Kantonalbank was the first Swiss financial service provider to publish an integrated environmental, social and financial report in the form of an annual report, thereby conveying an overall picture of the bank. We are involved in numerous organisations for the protection of the environment. They include:
