Social Commitment

We act responsibly towards our employees and make a financial commitment to the Zurich region and its residents through a wide variety of sponsorship activities.

Employees

We regard exemplary corporate governance - which is deeply rooted among our employees thanks to a code of conduct - as an important basis of our work. Actively encouraging and developing our employees is of great importance. This includes regular assessments, planning careers and succession, as well as managing and promoting our employees' individual capabilities and skills. A centre of competence caters for the needs of a wide variety of employees. An in-house health promotion programme, focusing on prevention and free advice with regard to vocational and personal issues, makes a contribution towards our employees' well-being. Work/life balance is another matter of great importance to us. We operate an extensive system of checks in oder to track the success of our manifold measures against the parameters we set.

Distribution of profit

We make an important contribution towards the health budget of the canton and its municipalities through its annual distribution of profit. In 2011, the profit distribution -including the interest paid on the endowment capital - amounted to CHF 377 million, or some CHF 193 per capita, in the canton of Zurich.

Commitments

We not only make an economic commitment to the canton of Zurich and its residents: our wide variety of activities in the fields of nature/environment, youth/education, culture, sports/health, entrepreneurship/innovation go to benefit the public at large.
