Jörg Müller-Ganz, who holds a doctorate in economics from the University of St. Gallen, was elected to the board of directors in 2007. In October 2010 he joined the committee of the board. From 1992 to 2010 he was consultant, CEO and partner at the Helbling Group. He also lectured on the subject of corporate finance at various universities. Prior to that, he worked at Bank Vontobel and Credit Suisse. Jörg Müller-Ganz chairs the management committee of the pension fund, the Marienburg foundation and the art committee. He is also a member of the IT committee.

János Blum, Deputy Chairman (SP)

János Blum, who holds a doctorate in mathematics from the ETH Zurich and a master's degree in economics from the University of St. Gallen, was first elected to the board of directors in 2002 and to the committee of the board in 2011. From 1989 to 2011 he worked as actuary. After different positions at Swiss Re he became Chief Actuary at Zurich Re and subsequently at Allianz Risk Transfer. Later he joined Milliman and as partner Prime Re Solutions, companies specialized in insurance and finance consultancy. János Blum is president of the boards of Zürcher Kantonalbank's foundations for Vested Benefits and 3rd Pillar Retirement Savings. He is also member of the Risk Management Committee, which he chaired from 2003 to 2011.

Bruno Dobler, Deputy Chairman (SVP)

Bruno Dobler, who holds an Executive MBA from the University of St. Gallen, joined the committee of the board on 30 June 2011. After completing his banking apprenticeship and before studying to become an airline pilot, Bruno Dobler trained with the then Union Bank of Switzerland for five years. In 1979 and 1985 he set up two airlines, which he managed as Chairman and CEO. From 2006 to 2008 he was CEO of Helvetic Airways. From 1995 to 2003 he was a member of the cantonal parliament. Bruno Dobler is a member of the compensation & personnel committee.

Alfred Binder, member of the board of directors (SVP)

Alfred Binder is an agricultural economist and independent farmer. He has been a member of the board of directors since 2003 and a substitute member of the committee of the board since 2010. His other positions include the chairmanship of Grüningen Botanical Garden. From 1989 to 2003 he was a member of the cantonal parliament. Alfred Binder chairs the compensation & personnel committee.

Thomas Heilmann, member of the board of directors (GP)

Economist Thomas Heilmann is the CEO and a founding member of Zurich publishing house Rotpunktverlag. He previously played a major role in the creation of Alternative Bank ABS in Olten, of which he was also chairman. Thomas Heilmann joined the board of directors in 2003. He is also a substitute member of the management committee of the pension fund. Thomas Heilmann chairs the audit committee.

Hans Kaufmann, member of the board of directors (SVP)

Hans Kaufmann joined the board of directors in October 2011. Since 1999, Hans Kaufmann has been a national councillor for the SVP in the canton of Zurich and a member of the party leadership of the SVP Zurich. He began his professional career as a financial analyst with Zürcher Kantonalbank. In 1980 he moved to the private bank Julius Bär, where he was initially head of equity research and later chief economist for Switzerland. In 1999, Hans Kaufmann became a self-employed business consultant.

Peter Ruff, member of the board of directors (SVP)

Peter Ruff joined the board of directors on 30 June 2011. Having trained as an engineer, he has been the owner and CEO of Exploris AG - which specialises in diagnostic solutions and data analysis in the healthcare industry - since 2002. He is also a member of the board of directors and co-owner of Ruf Group, an information technology business that he helped set up. Peter Ruff is a member of the risk management committee and the IT committee.

Kurt Schreiber, member of the board of directors (EVP)

Prior to his retirement, certified insurance expert Kurt Schreiber held various positions with Swiss Life from 1987 to 2004. From 1989 to 2005 he was a member of the cantonal parliament. Since 2003, Kurt Schreiber has been a member of the board of directors and the management committee of the pension fund. He is also chairman of the Pro Bahn Schweiz association. Kurt Schreiber is a member of the compensation & personnel committee.

Anita Sigg, member of the board of directors (GLP)

Anita Sigg joined the board of directors on 30 June 2011. She has been a lecturer, project manager and deputy head of the Centre for Business Banking at Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur since 2003. A business administrator, she is also a trustee of the Ökopolis foundation. She previously held various senior roles with Zürcher Kantonalbank in market research and market control. Anita Sigg is a member of the risk management committee and of the compensation and personnel committee.

Hans Sigg, member of the board of directors (GP)

Prof. Hans Sigg has been teacher of economics at the Kantonale Maturitätsschule für Erwachsene (cantonal high school for adults) since 1980. He has also taught at the Freies Gymnasium Zürich FGZ since 1996. From 1987 to 1995, he was a member of the cantonal parliament. He has been a trustee of Grüningen Botanical Garden since 2003. Hans Sigg is chairman of the IT committee.

Liliane Waldner, member of the board of directors (SP)

Liliane Waldner is a self-employed businesswoman and has been a member of the board of directors since 2003. She is also a member of the management committee and investment committee of the pension fund. An economist, she was previously on the board of directors of Elektrizitätswerke des Kantons Zürich (cantonal power generation company). From 1986 to 2003 she was a member of the cantonal parliament. Her other positions include the chairmanship of the SanArena foundation and of the Co-Operaid charitable organisation. Liliane Waldner is a member of the audit committee.

Rolf Walther, member of the board of directors (FDP)

Rolf Walther, an economist and self-employed businessman, was elected to the board of directors in 2010. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, he held various positions with UBS over a period of 29 years. From 2003 to May 2010 he was a member of the cantonal parliament. He is chairman of the City of Zurich Reformed Churches Association and the Herrenbergli Residential Home and Care Centre for the Elderly Cooperative. Rolf Walther is chairman of the risk management committee.

Stefan Wirth, member of the board of directors (CVP)

Stefan Wirth joined the board of directors on 30 June 2011. A mechanical engineer and business administrator, he headed up software development at Credit Suisse Asset Management until 2003. He is an independent IT and organisational consultant, and implements projects for various banks as project manager and business engineer. Stefan Wirth is a member of the audit committee and of the IT committee.
