All-purpose bank with a network of international relationships
Zürcher Kantonalbank was established in 1870. We are a Zurich-based, all-purpose bank with a network of international relationships. We are the largest cantonal bank in Switzerland, and the country's third-largest bank. By virtue of our comprehensive expertise in the mortgage and loan business, we have since 1995 become a highly successful player in the field of investment and pension provision; today, we number among Switzerland's leading asset managers. As an integrated financial services provider, we can provide all investment services in-house (investment and pension advice, research, asset management, trading and custody services).
Strong expertise in international business
The Zurich economy - as with the Swiss economy in general - earns half its revenues abroad. We therefore provide professional support to our clients in all markets: in Switzerland as well as abroad. We possess extensive expertise in international business, too, where we work closely with first-rate partner banks abroad. In Singapore, Beijing and Mumbai, we have our own representative offices. As a centre of competence in international business, we also assist other cantonal banks.
In addition to our investment services, we are continuously expanding our offer in transaction banking, where we provide banks with comprehensive services, primarily in the field of securities, payment and foreign exchange transactions, as well as trade and corporate finance. In doing so, we place great demands on ourselves when it comes to quality, which is subject to auditing by external agencies. For example, Zürcher Kantonalbank's production has been certified in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 9004, while the bank as a whole has been awarded ISO 14001 certification for its environmental management.
Distinguished by leading rating agencies
We are an independent public-law institution owned by the canton of Zurich, and benefit from a cantonal guarantee. The bank was awarded a triple-A rating not only by Standard & Poor's and Moody's but also by Fitch.
