As an independent public law institution established pursuant to the laws of the Canton of Zurich and of Switzerland, Zürcher Kantonalbank carries out the typical business activities of a large universal bank. Its core business includes account management, payment transactions and cards, financing, investment, asset management, trading and the capital market. It also offers additional services such as leasing and advisory services in financial, tax, inheritance, succession and real estate matters. To be able to optimally serve and advise its clients, Zürcher Kantonalbank uses the services of its subsidiaries inside and outside Switzerland, such as fund management companies in Zurich and Luxembourg, where appropriate and necessary. Zürcher Kantonalbank is subject to supervision by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) as a bank and a securities dealer.
If, in the event of a dispute, the bank rejects a legal claim submitted by a client, the client is entitled to initiate mediation procedures with the Swiss banking ombudsman, Bahnhofplatz 9, P.O. Box, CH-8021 Zurich, www.bankingombudsman.ch instead of or prior to initiating legal proceedings. Mediation is less expensive for affected clients and aims to resolve the dispute by means of reconciliation.
